The young couple stayed in constant fasting, prayer, and mediation on God’s Word. They had been married for five years and shared many accomplishments among them in their careers but there was a huge hole in their marriage that neither could fill. Each time he smiled, she pretended to exchange a smile too but she knew the one thing he wanted, she was unable to give him.
If you’re like most people, you spend your days just trying to survive. You’ve probably said things like, “I’ve just got to get through the day,” or “Will this day ever end?” Now I know you’ve had those bad days and, sorry to say, you will probably have a bad day or two in the future. That’s life! But just getting by is not what God has planned for you. His plan for your life goes far beyond survival. His plan is one of significance.
Music fills the church. A hush descends as guests take to their feet. The church doors open, revealing the bride in glistening white. She clutches a bouquet of red roses…no, make that yellow tulips flown in from Holland that very morning. The groom’s eyes glisten as he takes in the image of his beautiful bride.
We try to emulate a lot of people in life, don’t we? If we want to be better at business we look for the best businessperson we can find and try to do what they do. We do the same thing with our sports, finances, parenting… you name it! We are natural-born followers.
