    Some Information about Chris Tomlin

Chris Tomlin was born May 4, 1972 in Grand Saline, Texas. At the age of 14, Chris had written his first worship song. When his college years arrived, he attended Tyler Junior College and later moved to Texas A & M University, where he eventually majored in Psychology.

October of 2013, Chris Tomlin won at the 44th GMA Dove Awards under two categories: “Praise & Worship Album of the Year” with Burning Lights, and “Special Event Album of the Year” with Passion: Let The Future Begin.

Chris Tomlin’s friendship with Louis Giglio the founder of “Passion”—a movement intended to create a spiritual awakening through music worship on college campuses—was a turning point in Mr. Tomlin’s life. In 2006, Chris launched an on-line website called “Frequency,” which served as a resource for those that wanted to serve God and others in worship. Today, from this venture, a new website was born called “Frequency Worship,” which Mr. Tomlin co-founded with Larry Tardy, who has served as a worship pastor in local churches for over 30 years. The stated purpose of the website reads, “Frequency Worship is a place to grow and be encouraged in gospel-centered worship ministry.” The site is designed to be inspiring to Christians and particularly to those that want to be involved in worship music leadership. When visiting the site, it is recommended to take advantage of the linked box on the home page labeled, “Learn how to use this site.”

According to a K-Love Radio interview, as posted on their website, Chris Tomlin’s life passion was express this way: “As fulfilling as it’s been for Chris to lead audiences in worship, simply serving as just another worship artist hasn’t been enough. Chris has always been passionate about helping worship leaders thrive in their respective churches.” Mr. Tomlin uses his website “Frequency Worship” to accomplish this desire for the Glory of God, providing resources for those interested in the pursuit of becoming better at what they do within a local worship music ministry.

Today, according to NashvilleLifestyle.com, Chris Tomlin lives on 25 acres of land just outside the city of Franklin, Tennessee, about 45 minutes south of Nashville with his wife Lauren and their two children.
