A large number of Christians are expected to flock to Sligo, Ireland to attend a conference next month, The Journal reports.

Sligo17 is a summer conference for Christians which will be held from July 9th through July 14th, 2017. Organized by New Wine Ireland, the conference aims to gather Christians all over Ireland for a week of fellowship and church empowerment. General Manager John Stewart said Sligo17, “Is for anybody who loves Jesus.”

The first conference was held in 2006 with only 387 attendees. This year, more than 1,015 Christians have already booked for the entire week, and this doesn’t account for those who will be using day passes.

Stewart said, “We are non-denominational and friends across all christian religions are welcome.” He invites every one to join Sligo17. “People who love Jesus or anybody who is curious about religion and faith is welcome. It’s a good place to come and see what we’re about. We never turn anyone away.”

The conference will be held in IT Sligo, a state-funded institution, which could accommodate people coming from the North and South of Ireland.

“I’m delighted that New Wine is back with us next month,” said President of IT Sligo Brendan McCormack. “IT Sligo has enjoyed partnering with this all-Ireland Christian charity since 2009, providing top-class conference and catering facilities to delegates.”

Sligo17 is jam-packed with various activities, including 10 seminars each day, sessions, Bible teachings, workshops, and other fun-filled programs. Stewart hopes that the conference would be able to connect and engage Christians from different communities.
