That is why nowadays diverse genres, such as Hip Hop are finally being accepted in Christian music circles–because they can have quite an impact on those who have a love for the Hip Hop genre. It is a great tool in helping those who are new Christians, and particularly impactful for listeners who have not heard the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Christian Hip Hop music is often frowned upon because of its rhythm and considered to be heavily influenced by secular Hip Hop, critics say. Its fought a challenging fight since its early beginnings in 1985 and has defended itself against more traditional and accepted Gospel music.

Christian rapper Sola Scriptura is a soldier of Christ. Born in Panama but raised in Brooklyn, NY he has always had a passion for Hip Hop. Before he decided to give his heart to Jesus he had recorded two rap albums and decided that if he no longer lived by those previous beliefs, he wouldn’t pursue a mainstream rap career with those albums. He also acknowledged the responsibility of being a Hip Hop artist and decided to continue to pursue his passion but in a more positive way that would please the Lord.
Presently, he works as a chaplain and has a ministry focused on helping those get to know Jesus, the awesome saviour that he had an encounter with once. An encounter that saved his life and redirected his music, to be songs of praise. He is currently working on his third Christian rap album titled “Please label me a Christian rapper” Vol. 1, which he dedicates to those who are in doubt that Christian rap can surely lead to help believers become followers of Christ. By gaining a greater understanding of what God means to him, through his music.

He is proud of who he is because Christ has made sure of it. His lyrics reflect a soul that fights for Jesus everyday with all his might. With songs like “Forgive Me” he gives his own personal account of what it means to be a Christian facing sins that we continually struggle with. “Many Sins” another popular song on his new album, is the Christian version of rapper 50 cents hit “Many Men” which he recites bible scripture on and reflects on his life before and after being saved. His album is quite the “hidden gem” rapping over covers of your favorite artist’s music to spread the message that there is hope in Christ.
